Tennis fans will soon be able to perfect their serve and volley techniques on upgraded and refurbished tennis courts as part of a campaign to make the sport more popular in Wandsworth.
Wandworth Council has teamed up with top class coaches from All Win tennis to offer coaching and tuition for all ages at tennis courts across the borough.
All Win will now manage tennis courts in King Georges Park, Wandsworth Common, Tooting Bec Common, Leaders Gardens, Putney, Furzedown Recreation Ground and Wandsworth Park.
It will also invest about £500,000 in court facilities and playing surfaces to bring them up to Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) standards.
The agreement has been hailed by the LTA-backed Tennis Foundation, Britain’s leading tennis charity.
Geoff Newton, the organisation's chief executive, said: "In partnership with All Win and Wandsworth Council the LTA/TF are looking forward to encouraging many more people in Wandsworth to get involved.
"Tennis is a great social game and provides an enjoyable way of staying fit and healthy."
All Win, formerly known as All Star Tennis, have been involved in tennis in Wandsworth for 15 years.
