Two men charged with assault at a Walton and Hersham FC match last September will have to wait until October to face trial.
Garry Jean Gordon, 47, from Hainault, Essex and William Rees, 45, from Chigwell, Essex, appeared at North Surrey Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 15, but the trial was adjourned for six months due to a lack of time on the day.
Both men pleaded not guilty in December 2012.
They both remain on conditional bail until the trial, due to start on October 7, and are banned from attending any regulated football match in the UK.
A Walton and Hersham FC fan was taken to hospital for treatment to head injuries after an assault, thought to have been sparked by an on-pitch incident at the match against Brentwood Town on Saturday, September 29.
