Residents in Kingston Hill can once again get free cash quickly and easily, after a new ATM was installed at a petrol station.

The new service at the Shell garage, on the corner of London Road and Clifton Road, was put in following a campaign by residents and politicians, after the area’s last ATM was lost when Barclays bank closed in December.

Resident Lizzie Aston contacted Canbury ward conservative councillor Angela Craig, who lobbied Shell to install the ATM. Conservative MP for north Kingston Zac Goldsmith also supported the campaign.

Coun Craig said: "This is a brilliant example of working together.

Residents, shops and I along with our MP Zac Goldsmith, have showed the need and Shell have quickly provided a solution. We are thrilled."
