Sir Bruce Forsyth says working is his "drug".

The 85-year-old presenter has no plans to retire any time soon and admits he even finds himself missing the buzz of the industry while taking a well-deserved break, mainly with his third wife Wilnelia Merced at her home country of Puerto Rico.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I've been on holiday in Puerto Rico for three months which was lovely but it was good to be back. Just going any kind of work - even an interview for breakfast television - makes me feel happy.

"I'm working and I'm alive again. Not working is bad for you. It is my drug, it gives me a high; most performers will tell you that. And there is nothing like the high than an audience gives you."

Bruce is currently in talks with the producers of 'Strictly Come Dancing' - which he has hosted alongside Tess Daly since the series began in 2004 - about returning for the next season later this year, and the TV veteran loves entertaining the audience before the show begins, dishing out some of his routines from when he use to perform on stage.

He added: "The audience thinks I am doing a warm-up for them, but it is for me. It gets me ready for the show, I love doing it and the audience appreciates it. I'm back to being a performer in front of a live crowd.

"The whole show is on two pieces of paper. I've been doing a one-man show since 1954. I've changed some of the numbers and a few of the stories, I've put a new slant on things but it hasn't changed all that much ...

"On stage I think I'm 35. Working takes over my whole body and I become a younger man - that's why I won't stop."
