A wrestling crazy ten year old was granted a wish to meet one of his heroes.

Kieran Voisey, of South Croydon, got to meet WWE wrestling champion John Cena courtesy of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The foundation grants wishes for children with serious and terminal illnesses.

Kieran was born with spina bifida, which means his spinal cord is malformed, and hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid inside the skull.

As a result Kieran has limited mobility and although he can walk with splints on his legs, he finds this hard and often uses a wheelchair.

He also has to use a catheter and take lots of medication every day.

Starlight arranged for Kieran and his mum Maggie, his sister Suzannah, aged 13, and his brothers Matthew, aged 21, and Harry, 15, to see WWE Live at O2 Arena in Dublin on April 19.

Kieran was treated to a VIP WWE experience and got to see John Cena himself who posed for photos with the family.

Mrs Voisey, said despite all he has to deal with, he has a great sense of humour and is always smiling.

She said: "He is a cheeky little chappie who makes the best of his life.

"Kieran is absolutely fanatical about WWE Wrestling and he is always watching it on television. His favourite wrestler is John Cena and it has always been Kieran’s dream to meet his hero."
