A nursing home has invited locals to show off their creative sides by taking part in an arts competition.

Sunrise Senior Living, in Purley, will dish out prizes to the best entry on the them 'What Does Care Mean to You?' at a sizzling summer barbecue on June 21.

The closing date for entries is Friday June 7.

Janet Collings, general Manager at Sunrise, said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing the entries – I know there are lots of talented people in the area.

"It’s a great opportunity for local people to showcase their creativity and imagination."

The winner will receive a Derwent Artists Pencil 120 Wooden Box Set and have their artwork displayed at the home.

They will also be entered into Sunrise's national competition for a chance to win a Nikon D3200 D-SLR camera kit worth over £450.
