MP Paul Burstow has backed a campaign aimed at tackling world hunger.
The Sutton and Cheam MP met delegates from Catholic aid agency CAFOD as part of the Enough Food For Everyone IF project.
The project is a coalition of more than 200 charities demanding that world leaders assembling in Northern Ireland next month for a G8 meeting take action to end hunger in poverty-stricken countries.
Mr Burstow met Sister Rose Marmion and John Davis when they visited him in Parliament last week and they discussed the causes of world hunger including the activities of global food companies and the needs of small farmers in developing countries.
Mr Burstow said: "It was great to meet with John and Sr Rose, and hear about the IF campaign, and I want to thank CAFOD for helping to organise this brilliant event.
"By making world hunger top of the agenda when the G8 comes around, we can make sure that future generations don’t go hungry. I’m delighted to support the IF campaign and will make sure those in Westminster keep up the pressure to make the IF goals a reality."
