A people carrier ended up on top of another car following a traffic accident in Epsom yesterday evening.

Firefighters were called to the crash at 6.30pm after the people carrier pulled out of a driveway in Alexandra Road.

On their Facebook page the police neighbourhood team said it was "a definite miracle" that noone was seriously injured.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said a woman in her 30s was taken to St Helier Hospital in Carshalton.

He said the woman managed to get out of the car herself despite injuries including back pain.

Epsom watch manager Russell Giles said a woman in the people carrier and a man and a teenager in the Audi car suffered abrasions, cuts and bruises.

Mr Giles said: "The people carrier ended up on the bonnet of the Audi."
