This is the blood-stained face of a man police want to speak to in connection with the murder of Sutton man Andrew Iacovou.

Mr Iacovou, 55, was bludgeoned to death as he worked at Ladbrokes in Aberconway Road, Morden, in what police believe was a bungled robbery at about 10.30am on Saturday morning.

Police are appealing for anyone who knows the man in the pictures, from CCTV taken following the attack, to come forward as they work to identify him. Officers say he should not be approached and people should call 999 if they see him.

Mr Iacovou is believed to have worked for Ladbrokes for 20 years and has a disabled wife and two sons who he lived with in Church Hill Road, North Cheam, and a child fromo a previous marriage

He managed the branch in Tudor Drive, Morden, before moving to manage the branch in Aberconmway Road. Friends have paid tribute to him with one commenting on this website to say: "[He was] a very nice man, loved his family. Me and the other guys that use the Morden branch will miss you mate. My thoughts are with his wife and children."

Police were called to the scene of the attack by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man suffering from serious head injuries. Mr Iacovou was pronounced dead nat the scene.

A post mortem, conducted at St George's Hospital in Tooting, gave his cause of death as blunt trauma to the head.

Detectives from the homicide and serious crime command are investigating. They said it looks as if Mr Iacovou was tricked into opening a door which let the lone suspect get behind a counter to carry out the attack.

At this stage, it is not known whether any money was stolen.
