He is thought to have been travelling on trains between Streatham and Tulse Hill to Mitcham Junction.

Detective constable Mark Agrippa, investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 20-year-old man from Epsom, was travelling on a train between Herne Hill and Mitcham Junction around 5.10pm, using his mobile phone.

“During the journey, as the train was nearing Mitcham Junction, he was approached by a man, who offered to sell him drugs.

“When the victim declined his offer, the man snatched the phone out of his hand, headbutting him twice and threatening to stab him, before he left the train at Mitcham.

“The man’s behaviour was very threatening, and the victim received a cut to his hand and a graze to his nose as a result.

“Although the victim wasn’t seriously injured, this was clearly a very intimidating experience for him, and I would encourage anyone who recognises the man pictured to please get in touch.”
