Pippa Middleton has used her first piece writing for Vanity Fair magazine to talk about her love for Wimbledon.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister’s first issue hit the stands in New York today after she landed a job with the high end magazine as contributing editor.

In it she talks about her life-long passion for the world’s oldest tennis tournament, describing it as the highlight of her summer.

The 29-year-old recalls queuing for tickets with sister Kate and how she once told the entire Middleton clan she would get married in her tennis whites.

She said: "I first went to Wimbledon when I was eight years old and already a very keen tennis player."

"During this first trip I acted on my children tennis dreams and bought myself a postcard of the women’s championship, on which I wrote, ‘I will win this one day,’ with my signature below."

She added: "Queuing from five AM on ‘People’s Sunday’ in 2004 with my sister for three hours and getting £35 tickets on Centre Court; my first time ever.

"Seats were a free-for-all-and I recall almost tripping over myself trying to get as close as possible to my birthday-twin British hero Tim Henman."

In addition to her tennis highlights, Pippa offers survival tips for fans and notes which players to look out for, capping it off with a short Q&A with world number three Roger Federer.

Pippa also has a cook book under her belt and is a monthly recipe writer for Waitrose magazine.
