A man has died following a fire at a derelict building in Croydon.
Six fire engines from Purley, Croydon, Wallington, Addington and Norbury fire stations were called to Davenant Road at 2.54pm to reports of fire.
Crews worked hard to extinguish the blaze and the body of a man was discovered inside the building following a search.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service who were called to the scene at 3.10pm, said they sent an ambulance crew and a duty officer to the fire and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has yet to be formally identified.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage but is under investigation.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area as the incident is expected to cause delays to surrounding traffic.
The Flyover remains open but the access road from the Old Town roundabout is still closed.
