Engines revving and raring to go can only mean one thing; the busiest weekend on the Brooklands calendar is nearly upon us.

Together with joint organisers, the Vintage Sports Car Club, the home of British motorsport and aviation will once again be centre stage for some spectacular motor sport action.

The annual Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival this year comprises three competitive elements; the double twelve speed trials, a sprint on the Mercedes-Benz World track, the double twelve driving tests and the concours d’elegance, which will see the museum site graced with beautiful vehicles in front of a panel of judges.

Test Hill will be the focus of everyone’s attention on Saturday, with cars trying to make their way to the top while children run as fast as they can to the summit.

Families and car enthusiasts will also be able to mingle with drivers and their cars and enjoy a 50s themed entertainment zone with live music, dance lessons and makeovers from the Pretty Me Vintage parlour.

Paul Stewart from Brooklands Museum said there is something on offer for the whole family, with activities being laid on for youngsters and competitions and races with food and drink on offer.

Mr Stewart says: “The world class cars, the excitement of the track and the music, dancing, food and fashion of those times will flood the site creating an unforgettable weekend.”

All the usual attractions of Brooklands Museum will be open, including Concorde (extra charge applies) and London Bus Museum. More details can be found at brooklandsmuseum.com.
