The town centre hosted a traditional east Indian street festival on Sunday.
The Rathayatra festival, which was first held more than 5,000 years ago, is believed to be the world’s oldest street festival.
Organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and Croydon BID, the annual event was held in Croydon for the third time.
The diverse and colourful event, involved pulling Lord Jagannath- a form of the Indian God Lord Krishna, on a beautifully decorated wooden cart.
The procession which started in North End, was accompanied by a live band and had followers singing and dancing along.
