The freehold to Crystal Palace's training ground is to go under the hammer next month in the search for new owners.

The Eagles' base in Beckenham has been put up for auciton at a guide price of £2m and will be up for sale at an Allsop commercial auction at the Park Lane Hotel in Piccadilly on July 9.

Palace should not be affected by the sale as their current lease runs until 2018. A review was carried out last year and set the annual rent at £200,301 exclusive of rates, with the lease stating the next review will not be until August 2015.

The site is described as 12.3 acres and comprising of a training ground with a sports pavilion, old clubhouse, a gym, a bungalow used for administration, a groundsman's workshop and a detached garage.

The Eagles have previously announced they would like to build and move to a new training ground but sites are still being discussed for this.

The Beckenham site is currently leased to Palace by a property company after former chairman Simon Jordan sold it in 2004.
