A doctor who allegedly abducted her six-year-old daughter following a marriage break-up has been warned by a judge "the courts will not give up."

The warning came nearly two years after Humma Dar, 39, of Morden, disappeared with her daughter Aamina Khan, who turns eight in July.

Deputy High Court Judge Clive Heaton said it was impossible not have sympathy for Aamina's father, Safraz Khan, 44, from Croydon, who had been given custody of the schoolgirl.

Mr Khan also a doctor, has repeatedly travelled to Pakistan where the pair are believed to be, and after the hearing urged anyone who thought they might have seen his daughter and ex-wife to come forward.
