A couple celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary said it has been years of matrimonial bliss.
Ken and Helen Bates were married on June 12 1948 at Beddington Church and last week celebrated their blue sapphire anniversary.
Last year, around 2,000 couple reached the landmark, including The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
The Bates', of Clifton Road, Wallington, said they have been happy throughout their married life.
Mrs Bates, 86, said: "It has been wonderful. I would not swap him for anyone in the world."
