Hundreds of properties were left without electricity after a power cut this morning.
UK Power Networks says it is working to restore power to 691 customers in the Beauchamp Road and St James Road area of Sutton after a fault on a piece of high voltage equipment in a substation.
Hundreds of properties - including the Sutton Guardian's newsroom in Quadrant House and the Civic Offices in St Nicholas Way - lost power at 11.50am with further properties losing power just after midday.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: "We would like to reassure customers that engineers are working as quickly as is safely possible to return supplies to normal as soon as we can.
We realise how difficult it is to be without power and apologise for any inconvenience."
