A special flag was raised outside Taberner House on Monday to celebrate the beginning of Armed Forces Week.

Croydon Mayor Councillor Yvette Hopley raised the flag as a symbol of Croydon's commitment to the Armed Forces and the community covenant launched in December 2011, that supports armed forces personnel in the borough.

Events have been organised in Croydon to show the borough's support for the Armed Forces.

Members of the armed forces, navy and RAF will be in attendance at the White Horse Pub in Selhurst this Saturday.

Those attending the pub, which is in Selhurst Road, have been asked to wear something forces related to show support to the troops.

Crystal Palace legend Eddie McGoldrick will be having the moustache shaved off that he has been growing for the Help the Heroes charity since the Eagles got promoted.
