Two more people were arrested yesterday in connection with an armed robbery during which a cash delivery worker is believed to have been pistol-whipped outside a Co-op.

Police arrested a man and woman in their 30s on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery after executing warrants in Box Hill at about 6.30am.

The pair, from Tadworth, have been bailed.

Three other men and a woman remain on bail after the delivery worker’s cash box, containing about £45,000, was stolen outside the Co-op in Tattenham Corner on January 30.

At 10.30am a passenger jumped out of a cream Chevrolet and hit the cash delivery worker in the face with what is thought to be a handgun.

The car was later found abandoned in North View Crescent.
