Shoppers can prepare for a summer of fine dining by visiting the Food Festival at the Heart Shopping Centre.

The event will feature demonstrations and master classes with celebrity chefs Rob Kennedy and Richard Fox, from BBC1 show Saturday Cooks, in a covered stage area in the main plaza outside the centre.

Other attractions include demonstrations and sampling from restaurants including Nando’s and Carluccio’s, competitions and food stalls selling top quality produce.

Children can join in by going to the Kids’ Club workshop from 10am to 2pm where they can decorate and take home cakes and cookies.

Centre manager Mark Middleton says: “The festival is a must for all the family and anyone with a passion for food.”

Master classes in sausage making, home smoking and cheese making are free and can be booked at the website. Food Festival; The Heart Shopping Centre, New Zealand Avenue, Walton; June 29 to 30, 9.45am to 2pm; call 01707 275050, or visit heartshopping.co.uk.
