Councillors, residents and servicemen paid tribute to the armed forces following a parade through Morden town centre.

Residents lined the streets on Saturday, June 29, for a dedication service outside the civic centre when the flag was raised in tribute to the thousands of former and active servicemen and women serving through the world.

This was followed by a parade and multi-faith service at St Lawrence church attended by representatives from the Royal British Legion, Army Cadets at Wimbledon College, Air Training Corps, the Scouts, Police Cadets, Territorial Army and the City of London Fusiliers.

Following the service, members of the armed forces and other dignitaries were served tea and refreshments at the Baitul Futhu Mosque in Morden who were given a tour of the mosque, the largest in Western Europe, by the Imam Mulana Naseem Ahmad Bajwa.
