Voluntary and community organisations are invited to apply for funding from Elmbridge Council, after an extra £24,000 was added to the budget.

The additional funding means the small and medium grants budget now totals £45,000 and is used to support good causes and people in need in the borough.

Applications from the voluntary, community and faith sectors for running costs, equipment or project costs and support to vulnerable people can be submitted from July 12.

Councillor Christine Elmer, social portfolio holder for community support services, said: “The council is very committed to supporting the brilliant work delivered by the local voluntary and community groups in Elmbridge and is extremely pleased to be able to announce the extra funding this year.

“I would encourage groups, particularly those supporting vulnerable people to apply. Successful applicants will receive funding by the autumn.”

Previous grants have been award to projects supporting people with learning disabilities, supporting people with sight impairments and counselling for people suffering from bereavement.
