A popular Indian fable will be performed on Kingston riverside this weekend as part of the IYAF festival.

Metta Theatre brings its production of Monkey & Crocodile to Eagle Brewery Wharf on Saturday, July 13 - a circus theatre play that the company usually performs in playgrounds.

The show tells the story of the apple-loving monkey, who befriends a crocodile, but must keep her wits about her to avoid the clutches of the croc’s hungry mother.

This classic story of friendship and betrayal is suitable for children aged three and above and takes place at 4.30pm.

Metta will also be showing children how to hone their own circus skills at a free workshop earlier that day.

Led by circus artist Rosie Rowland, the workshop includes juggling and acro-balance, and takes place at Market House from 9.30am.
