Families had all the fun of the fair as the sun shone down on Cobham Village Hall.

The summer fete, held on Saturday, July 6, was the first fundraising event of the year to raise money for the halls new extension, being built to cater for the increasing number of people and groups looking for a venue in Cobham.

Youngsters enjoyed the sunshine stroking Shetland ponies, before jumping for joy on a bouncy castle provided by Flipside.

Army cadets also showed off their skills and strength to visitors by running through tyres at speed.

For those who fancied a quieter day out, there were plenty of stalls to browse with bric-a-brac, tombola, Craft UK willow baskets, Stella and Dot jewellery, Dovehouse fine antiques and Phoenix Trading cards and paper all present.

Firm fete favourites hook-a-duck, face painting, biscuit decorating and second hand books were also all available to attendees.

A raffle was also held, with top prizes on offer including a £250 mattress from Tudor Williams, a £50 voucher and products from Aveda and a signed Fulham FC top to name a few.

Sharron Eklo, secretary of Cobham Village Hall, said: “A fantastic day for Cobham Village Hall, our fundraising summer fete celebrated the new build and brought the whole community together.

“There was such a great atmosphere and, despite the sweltering heat, everyone painted, jumped, balanced, ate hot dogs, shopped and had loads of fun.

“But most importantly we raised a fantastic amount of money for the hall. Thank you to everyone involved.”
