Princess Alice Hospice will feature in a BBC1 programme, showcasing the help and support it gives to patients and their families.

A television crew visited the Esher hospice last week to interview Gauri Chauhan, welfare benefits adviser, and one of her patients for the fifth series of Saints and Scoungers.

Due to air in the autumn, the series follows fraud officers who catch benefit thieves and highlights the work of charities that provide support to people in need.

While filming, Ms Chauhan talked about the support she offered patients and the families who rely on the hospice’s care.

As part of her role, Ms Chauhan helps families apply for grants and benefits and fills out forms for them to get as much financial help as they can.

Ms Chauhan said: “It was great to be able to highlight the work the hospice does to support our patients.

“I was nervous about being filmed but Matt Allwright and the crew were great at putting me at ease. I'm looking forward to seeing the show when it is on BBC1.”
