Armed police swooped in to arrest a man on suspicion of robbery this afternoon.
Police were called to reports of a robbery in which a firearm was alleged to have been seen at 2.25pm.
Armed officers arrested a man outside Debenhams in Croydon High Street on suspicion of robbery.
He has been taken to a south London police station, no firearm has been recovered.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
