Three people were taken to hospital following a crash in South Croydon yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to Croham Road at 8.20pm on Sunday July 14 to reports of a head on collision between two cars.

One man had to be cut out of one of the cars by the London Fire Brigade who removed the roof to lift the man out on a stretcher due to neck injuries.

The driver of the car, a woman, was also taken to Croydon University Hospital.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said she had to be assisted from the car as her feet were trapped under the pedals.

Another man, who was driving the other car, was also taken to hospital.

Watch manager Brett Loft, from Croydon Fire Station, said the road was shut off while emergency services attended the scene.

An LAS spokesman said the casualties were not taken to hospital as a priority.
