A have-a-go-hero has been praised by police for rushing to the aid of a woman who was being robbed by two men on a moped.
The 24-year-old woman was sitting at a bus stop on Christchurch Road near the Tandem Centre in Colliers Wood on Wednesday, June 19, at about 10.15pm.
The moped drove past the woman before double backing and stopping behind the bus stop when the rear passenger got off and tried to grab her mobile phone.
A struggle ensued during which a man ran across the road and chased the men away.
Police want to speak to this man to help them with their investigation.
Police Constable Tristan Muts from Wimbledon police said: "This was a brave act by the man who intervened and we would like to speak to him.
"Hopefully he can assist us in identifying and arresting these cowardly suspects.
"The suspects have picked on a lone woman, but they didn't bank on this man running across the road and chasing them off."
Anyone with information on this good Samaritan should call Wimbledon CID on 0208 649 3103.
