An unfortunate dog got its head stuck in railings this morning and had to be rescued by the fire brigade.
The Rottweiler ran straight into the railings at around 12.30am in Tedder Road, Selsdon.
Owners tried to rescue the dog by greasing it up and slipping its head back through the railing but their attempts were in vain.
Firefighters from New Addington attended and bent the railings using specialist equipment so the dog could be freed.
Watch manager Tony Weeks said: “The owners tried grease but it wasn’t happening so we got the big gear on it.
"The dog was fine so we didn’t have to get the RSPCA down or anything.”
