A drunk man had to be taken to hospital after getting his leg impaled on a spike.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was trying to scale the walls of Brockwell Park but managed to impale his leg on one of the railings.
London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance and Police all attended the scene at about 11pm on Monday night.
Three fire crews from West Norwood, Brixton and Lewisham all attended the scene with specialist equipment to free the man who was also drunk.
He was taken to Kings Hospital.
An LFB spokeswoman said the man was very distressed and added it was fairly rare to deal with incidents like this.
She added: “We usually have to deal with kids getting stuck climbing into the park but we don’t often have to deal with grown men getting impaled on a spike.”
