A Veolia rubbish truck has spilled part of its load in Leatherhead Road in Chessington.
A Kingston Council spokeswoman said the waste company had been contacted.
Veolia will check the lorry involved and arrange for the rubbish to be cleared up, residents were told.
Temperatures are set to climb to almost 30 degrees again today.
