Police officers have spent a day learning how to cope with dementia sufferers.
Wandsworth police officers from Putney were trained by Tony O'Flaherty, who runs care business Home Instead, on July 2.
Mr O'Flaherty came up with the idea after police became involved with one of his elderly clients.
A total of 15 officers were trained in Jubilee House, Putney Bridge Road, with more police set to take the course.
Mr O'Flaherty said: "Putney police recently became involved with one of our elderly clients and when I asked if they would like some dementia training,
Inspector Jayme Johnson Head of Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams jumped at the chance because dementia related issues are becoming an increasing draw on resources."
Wandsworth Fire Brigade will also be trained next month.
