Boris Johnson is set to answer questions on plans to bring trams to Sutton today.
London Assembly members Steve O'Connell, Sutton and Croydon's representative, and Caroline Pidgeon, leader of the assembly's Liberal Democrats and deputy chairwoman of the transport committee, will ask London's Mayor if tram services are part of his vision for Sutton during Mayor's Question Time at City Hall in London today.
Mr Johnson said he was in favour of Tramlink, which operates in Croydon and Merton, being extended to Sutton if the business case is good enough when he visited the town earlier this month.
Sutton is one of several places bidding to get the extension. Mr Johnson said businesses need to get together to show they are willing to invest to bring the tram to Sutton.
Mayor's Question Time starts at 10am.
