An evening of fun, warmth and big laughs is expected as Stephen K Amos comes to Croydon later this year.

It has been a busy year for the comedian with most of his time being spent on the road or in some cases on the other side of the world.

Amos has recently taken his new show The Spokesman to Australia and New Zealand. He is due to perform at the Edinburgh Festival this summer before embarking on his UK tour which will go on until February.

The comedian will be travelling the length and breadth of the country with his new show, that will not lack in audience participation.

His show, The Spokesman, is an interesting look into the roles of spokespersons in the modern world.

Amos examines the role of these people who are usually acting as fire fighters to put out a negative story.

The show is due to be performed at Fairfield Halls in November, and Amos says he is looking forward to coming to a town he knows well.

He says: "I always have a good time in Croydon and I am very looking to forward to going there. My brother used to live in Croydon so I have been there quite a bit.

"There is always a good vibe in Croydon."

It has been a busy year for Amos and despite spending much of his time on the road, he says it is great to go to different places.

"Australia was absolutely incredible. I did four and half months in total and toured all over the place. It was good fun and I was away for our horrible winter so that was good.

"The idea for the new show came from watching the news and reading the papers and seeing how these spokespersons operated."

He says: "It is quite a fun and interesting angle on it. I also have a prepared statement for someone in the audience to read on my behalf.

"There are elements of the show where it is rehearsed and pre planned but there are other aspects where I want to get the audience involved but in a relaxed way. I am not there to intimidate them I want them to participate.

"As far as I am concerned no one will be made to look like a fool, that is not my style."
