The bus driver brother of murdered Jamie Sanderson has had to drive past Oceana nightclub every day since his death.

Jamie's mother, Carol Sanderson, said in an impact statement to the Old Bailey her son's death was senseless.

Friends cheered outside the court today as two men were given life sentences for murdering the 20-year-old in Oceana nightclub on October 25 last year.

Carol Sanderson, who lives in Southall, said: "As a family it is difficult to fully explain the loss and sadness we have felt since the murder of Jamie.

"Our once happy home life will never be the same and it is hard to believe we will never see Jamie again.

"We miss everything about Jamie.  We miss his fun and laughter and his kindness.

"We are angry that he has been taken from us in such a cruel way.

"What makes Jamie's death harder to deal with, is knowing that his murder was so unnecessary.

"Jamie was on a night out with his friends when an insignificant argument resulted in Jamie being fatally stabbed.

"We take some comfort from the fact that Jamie's murder was not a pre planned, pre-organised murder but at the same time the senselessness of his murder leaves us feeling like it could so easily have been avoided.

"It has been so difficult to sit in court everyday hearing the defendants lie about what happened, knowing they killed Jamie.

"They showed no remorse for what they did as if they have not even considered the life they have taken away and how they have shattered so many people’s lives, including their own lives.

"Jamie was too young to die. He had his whole life ahead of him.

"He was a talented musician studying for a Btec National in music technology at Hammersmith and West London College.

"We have learnt that the day after Jamie's death a job offer had been sent to him for a job at a local trade store.

"This was the break Jamie needed to start his adult life. It was never to be.

"Jamie's beautiful son Jaiden Jamie Sanderson Glover was born on 21st May 2013,  seven months after Jamie's death.

" Jamie will never  meet his son, Jamie will not be there to watch his son grow up and Jaiden will never know his Dad.

"Jaiden's mother Kira has lost her partner and now will have to raise Jaiden alone.

"Kira is finding Jamie's death very hard and will not go to his grave.  Jaiden looks so much like Jamie.

"We feel blessed that Jaiden is here. He comforts us and makes us feel close to Jamie.

"Our family have suffered physically as well as mentally since Jamie's murder.

"I have not been able to sleep, Kimberley and I have needed counselling and we have been extremely run down.

"We have all been very depressed.  Jamie's brother Jason drives bus route 111 which passes by Kingston Oceana.

"He has to pass by there every day.  A sad daily reminder of the terrible way his brother died.

"We have been given great support from family friends and the local community.

"Jamie was well known in our local community and was much loved by young and old people alike.

"The old ladies loved him for helping them carry their shopping home and the young loved his fun personality.

"We would like to thank the police and our legal team for working so hard on this case.

"We held a march 'Bin a knife, save a life' with tremendous support from friends, family and the local police.

"We hope that the loss of Jamie will provoke thought within the youth and make them begin to understand that the premeditated act of carrying a knife is the responsibility of all in a group and that it does not only affect the person you wish to harm, but brings pain, anguish and shame to the suspect's family, friends and loved ones.

"So everyone loses out.  If there was no knife there on the night of Jamie's murder this terrible sequence of events would never have happened.

"In our case, we have lost a beloved son, brother, father, partner, uncle and loyal friend.

"Our family will never be the same again. We will never forget Jamie. May god rest his soul in peace."
