A group of women who have been fundraising for a year raised £28,000 during a charity auction.
The Pinksie The Whale project saw children in Honewell Primary School, Belleville Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School create artwork.
A gala evening auction raised thousands for the cause, with Andy Murray's autograph, contemporary art and other items up for grabs.
About 200 people attended the event, held in The Royal College of Art, Dyson Building, Battersea, on Thursday.
An exhibition of the children's work was also held in the building, created through the help of professional artists running workshops in the schools.
The aim of the project was to inspire children while raising money for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
A book called Pinksie The Whale helped to promote the project, which told the tale of a whale who overcame her fear of being different.
The money raised will go towards the purchase of 26 pumps for syringes used by patients for pain relief in the hospital.
