A 35-year-old has admitted stabbing a man after a fight.
Billy Warren, 35, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent at Croydon Crown Court today, moments before he was due to stand trial.
Warren of Denmark Gardens, Carshalton, stabbed William Lindsay on January 22, 2013, in Dover Court, Parkhurst Road, Sutton, following a fight that evening.
The court heard that Warren was extremely drunk or “wasted” as one police officer described him.
Mr Lindsay had punched Warren a number of times to get him out of the flat but Warren stabbed him in retaliation.
Mr Lindsay was taken to hospital where he had to undergo emergency surgery however the court heard he now has no long-lasting effects from the attack.
Judge Heather Baucher said he pleaded guilty on the first day of the trial and would get credit for doing so.
