A 39-year-old teacher has been reunited with her stolen bicycle.
Officers from Sutton’s Safer Transport Team returned the £700 bike which was taken from her locked shed, near Worcester Park train station, on Tuesday, June 25.
Soon after the burglary police spotted someone loading a bicycle into a vehicle and brought them in for questioning.
PC Neil Pearce, of Sutton’s Safer Transport Team, cross-checked the bicycle against crime reports and was able to return the bike to its owner on Tuesday, July 23.
The victim, who asked not to be named, said: “I never thought I would see it again. I’m really pleased to have it back although I see it needs a good wash.”
The suspect remains on police bail pending further enquiries.
