Two men have been bailed again after arrests in connection with an armed robbery during which a cash delivery worker is thought to have been pistol-whipped outside a Co-op.

A Battersea man in his 20s who was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, burglary and money laundering has been bailed until September 9.

A second man in his 40s, also from Battersea, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and money laundering, has also been bailed until then.

Four others remain on bail after the delivery worker’s cash box, containing about £45,000, was stolen outside the Co-op in Tattenham Corner on January 30.

A man and woman in their 30s, from Tadworth, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and a Battersea woman and Brixton man were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

On January 30 at 10.30am a passenger jumped out of a cream Chevrolet and allegedly hit the cash delivery worker in the face with what is thought to be a handgun.

The car was later found abandoned in North View Crescent.
