An underwater photographer raised £1,000 for injured servicemen after he donated one of his prints to a raffle at a Richmond gallery.

Terence Arpino, who recently exhibited his work at the Bowman Gallery, Richmond along with artist and poet Sandra Sullivan, organised the raffle which saw the winner receive a 3D underwater, photographic print.

Corporal Richard Storey of 51 Squadron, RAF Regiment, who is currently undergoing treatment at Headley Court in Epsom, drew the winning ticket and accepted the donation on behalf of Help for Heroes.

Mr Arpino specially thanked Bowman Gallery, the White Horse, the Red Cow, Cedars Health Club and Atlantis Diving Club for their contributions.

He said: “What I think is so important is realising what these soldiers are doing for us and how they are looking after our interests and safeguarding our freedom so we can go to work and live free lives.

“They are coming back injured like you wouldn’t believe so we will do anything we can to give our thanks and help them.”

His wife, Shelley, was delighted to present one of her husband’s framed prints to Corp Storey as a personal gift and mark of appreciation.
