A motorcyclist with leg injuries was taken to hospital after a crash in Epsom yesterday.

Police were called to a motorcycle and car crash at the junction of Alexandra Road and College Road at 5.20pm.

A blue Renault Clio had collided with a black Yamaha motorcycle.

Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said on Facebook: "The motorcyclist is lucky, as from triage, it's believed he only has minor injuries, though he has gone to the hospital to be checked out properly."

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said a paramedic who travelled by car and an ambulance crew helped the motorcyclist who is in his 20s.

The spokesman said: "He was assessed and treated before being taken to Epsom General." His injuries are not believed to to be 'life changing'.

Although the circumstances of this crash are not known, in June worried residents contacted the Epsom Guardian about drivers speeding on Alexandra Road, which they dubbed "the miracle crash road".

The concerns came after a people carrier ended up on the bonnet of another car in May.

Last September a 'flying car' crashed into a first-floor bedroom in Bridge Road after the driver missed his turning off of Alexandra Road into Upper High Street.

The driver was disqualified from driving for two years in January.
