Crowds swarmed to Croydon town centre yesterday, as fashion Guru Gok Wan began filming a TV pilot in the town.

The pilot involved asking eager members of the public questions, then getting them to pick out other onlookers to join their team.

In no time a mass of people gathered around Gok and the contestants.

Answering questions right earned the team money, and gave them the option to continue or stop and take home the money.

Peggy Chis a contestant said: "It really puts you on the spot, but it was a good bit of fun."

"Unfortunately I got my question wrong which meant the team did not win any money, but I still had a great time playing."

At the point in the game where the question was wrongly answered, the team had secured themselves a respectable £95.84 each.

Gok Wan best known for presenting Channel 4 show 'How to Look Good Naked,' was on form, wowing shoppers with his charm and winning smile, while ambushing unsuspecting members of the public to ask his questions.

Excitable contestant Holly Boffett, said; "I couldn’t believe it was him, I was so shocked and excited.

"It was a really fun quiz, I was disappointed that we lost, but you win some and you lose some, and at least I got to meet Gok."

Croydon based business Centrale have speculated the pilot show will be called "Pocket Money".
