Staff at St Peter’s Hospital received a visit from Dr Peter Carter, chief executive and general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing.
Dr Carter visited the hospital on July 30 following an invitation from the trust to meet staff and discuss the new nursing and midwifery strategy, Together We Care.
He had a tour of the hospital before hosting an open afternoon session with Chief Nurse Suzanne Rankin which highlighted a £2.8m refurbishment of Ashford’s outpatient departments and plans to build a new midwifery-led unit next year.
