A Croydon teenager has sailed through her X Factor audition after moving all four judges to tears.

Hannah Barrett, 17, wowed judges and millions of X Factor fans with two performances to remember on Saturday and Sunday night.

The 17-year-old said her dad, who died two years ago, was her musical inspiration.

The teenager works in Greggs but is currently living in temporary accommodation after falling out with her mother.

On Saturday the A-level student sang Emeli Sande’s Read All About It for the room audition which had judges Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh wiping away tears.

Similarly, on Sunday night’s show, the teenager impressed again with her version of Jenifer Hudson’s One Night Only.

The judges unanimously put her through to the next round.

Speaking to X Factor Hannah said: “I really wanted to impress Sharon and Nicole. I knew Sharon was back and I had watched her on the show when I was younger.

“I knew she had a lot of experience. Then I got into the room and felt like Nicole really saw the heart, the fight of the performer. That’s when I knew I had to impress her too.

“Friends always say you’re great but you need to hear the bad stuff. You need to hear how to improve your breathing and stage presence.

“I knew what the Judges were saying was true when they said I needed to get better at performing, and I hadn’t realised just how lost I get in the song. I forget about everyone else. I’m in a big bubble by myself and that doesn’t help with stage presence.

“So, I went straight home from that audition and practised my performance in the mirror.”
