A broken-down bus caused major delays in the Streatham area during this morning's rush hour traffic.
The bus broke down in the yellow hatched area at the major junction between Streatham High Road and Mitcham Lane.
The bus, which had been crossing the junction from the south along Streatham High Road, got stuck broadside across the road some time before 8.30am.
Police arrived on the scene and were directing traffic around the bus, but this was causing long delays and tailbacks in all directions.
An eyewitness said: "I was stuck in my car for almost half an hour before finally reaching the broken down bus. But once I was past it going down Mitcham Lane the traffic was minimal."
