Commuters continue to face delays this evening after a man was hit by a train at East Croydon station this morning.
Passengers faced cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes after the man, who is believed to have been from Croydon, was struck by a train at about 5.25am.
Officers from British Transport Police and medics from London Ambulance attended the incident, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said the death was being treated as non-suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner.
Although all lines through the station are now open, there are still delays of up to 30 minutes on Southern and Gatwick Express services, which are expected to last until about 7pm.
First Capital Connect services are no longer being affected by the disruption.
Ticket acceptance is in place with Brighton and Hove Buses, London Underground, London Buses, London Midland, Metro Buses and London Tramlink on any reasonable routes.
