Croydon youth magazine grabs the limelight
A Croydon College based youth magazine is pulling in some big scoops after interviewing two X Factor finalists.
Limelight, a magazine put together by young people, has two double page features on 2011 finalist Amelia Lilly and 2012 finalists Union J.
Daniele McGrath, 19, of Thornton Heath interviewed Union J and said it was great to get the opportunity to speak to them.
She said: “It was great to interview such a famous band and it was incredible how down to earth they were despite their success.”
The latest issue also features an article on how to produce an outstanding university application, a feature on the dangers of bullying and careers advice from Rachel Richardson, the editor of the magazine Fabulous.
Croydon College, charity Croydon Commitment and the CVA Centre have all contributed to help the magazine.
Ian Robinson, chief executive of Croydon Commitment, said: “Limelight’s eighth issue continues the fantastic legacy the magazine has built.
“It is an absolutely fantastic publication, which engages with its target audience.
“The reason why Croydon Commitment and the CVA felt Limelight was worthy of funding is because it has a vast audience and meets with our desire to provide positive experiences for young people in the borough.”
