Lovers of the sixties will be able to 'swing' their hearts out later this month when the musical Carnaby Street will arrive in Wimbledon.
The show will celebrate the vibrant decade transporting the audience to a time when mods, mini-skirts and mopeds ruled.
Inspired by the autobiography of music industry legend Carl Leighton Pope, Carnaby Street tells the story of working class boy Jude from Liverpool who comes to London with nothing but his guitar and dreams of fame and fortune.
Follow the high and lows of Jude’s journey while swinging to solid gold hits like Shout and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.
Leighton Pope, writer and producer, said: "The songs are classic 60’s hits and the fashion and the colour gave me my story.
"I didn’t want it to be a song-led concert style musical, so the book, together with the music is the story I wanted to tell.
"It took 16 years to write.
"It was a labour of love.
"Please enjoy it as much as I do."
