Gymnasts from Max Force Trampoline Club & Gatwick Flyers flew out to Portugal last weekend to compete in the eighth Loule Cup as The Flying Force.
The competition standard was extremely high - incuding athletes from Kazakhstan, Russia, Japan, Canada, Mexico and New Zealand - and the team gave their all to win, even though the heat in the stadium was at times overwhelming.
The hard work paid off with Amelia Owten winning silver in U13 trampoline, and Lauren Giles winning silver in junior double mini trampoline (DMT).
Lia Hutchinson, Kira Burgess Tremain and Gemma Osbourne narrowly missed a place in the finals by a fraction of a point.
Ed Weeden and Rio Park Stone both successfully competed their routines with multiple double somersaults, and Amber Clifton completed her most difficult routine to date.
In the team results, the club finished fifth in trampoline and fifth in DMT.
